Intro to Lionflow Breakdown

We’ll practice the full class, with some extras. We’ll also have tutorials, and Q & A about the postures & class method. All levels & ages welcome.

Qigong & Neigong for Home Practice

These moving & still meditations in stances are therapeutic practices that have been Kung-fu warm ups since the beginning of Kung-fu. These practices are like a gentle form of yoga that works to build the strength, flexibility, stability, and focus for Kung-fu training. By themselves they are a very productive home practice for health & longevity. All levels & ages welcome.

Workshop – Kung-fu for Wellness

We’ll cover element, animal, and blended forms of Hsing-I Kung-fu with more time than we usually have in class. We’ll also have fun warm ups ( push hands & splashing hands ),and a meditation for the warm down. The idea of this workshop is to take your practice beyond class by learning enough for an engaging home practice. All levels & ages are welcome.

Master Bu Hong visiting

It is an honor to announce Master Bu Hong ( aka Keith Dwan ), my teacher, will be coming to town the last week of September. We have set up a few classes & a lecture about his book ” Travels of a Kung-fu Master “. I will advertise his classes with links to sign up.

His lecture is first in line. He will be lecturing at IUS on September 27th from 7 to 8:30pm in the Ogle Center. Here is the link to sign up –

https://southeast.iu.edu/lifelong-learning/adult-education/kung-fu-master-lecture.html

This lecture will cover his journey to discover the truth about Xingyiquan lineage, and how this led him to his teacher, and ultimately led to him becoming the next name on the lineage chart, and given the family name of Bu Hong.

He is traveling from the UK to visit us, and you don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear his story. His tutelage, passion, and kindness helped put my life on course as a young man, and I am excited to share these classes & lectures with you so you can have your own experiences.

Stay tuned, more offering will be advertised soon 🙏

Altered 2 week schedule

Hello All,

My Father passed away May 5th, and my family is mourning & celebrating his life. He was a great man, and I was lucky to call him friend as well as Father. He lived with Love & Grace as a lifestyle, and he enriched our lives in every way.

The next two weeks there will be an altered schedule. I will work Thursday – Saturday this week, 5/11 – 5/13, and next week I’ll work Tuesday – Friday, 5/16 – 5/20.

Thank you for your understanding & support. Many blessings to you & your loved ones. Sincerely,

Glenn Brown

Kung-fu Tao – Xingyiquan is the style of Kung-fu taught in this course, along with traditional Kung-fu warm-ups; Neigong, Qigong, Tien Gunn, and push hands. Classic 84 Breakdown Workshop Series

Kung-fu Tao

I am thrilled to announce that I will be adding Kung-fu classes to the schedule. The classes are titled ” Kung-fu Tao Class “. This is not the name of the style, it is simply the name of class, and means ” The Kung-fu Way “. The styles we will be training in are Xingyiquan, Hsing-I, Taijiquan, Qigong, and more. Simply said, Wudang, which is the internal martial arts of Kung-fu, focused on mind & body control, and wellness. What does that mean. These classes will not have sparring, or punching bags, but instead forms passed down to me from my teacher Master Bu Hong ( Keith Dwan ). It is an honor to teach a style with lineage, and I am excited to be able to offer it to you.

I began training with Master Bu Hong in 2001 after meeting him in 2000. He inspired & encouraged me to create my own Kung-fu warm up, and that is why Lionflow Yoga was created. Now coming full circle, Lionflow Yoga will be used to warm up for Kung-fu class tonight.

It can be difficult to explain something so important to you to others. Hard to find the words that carry the same weight as your emotions, and maybe it lacks the importance to others that it does to you, but don’t let that discourage you. We need each others unique talents to make a more complete culture & world view. Now, after 20 years of preparation, I am open to sharing this part of my journey.

More information, and opportunities to practice will be coming soon. For now you can join the Kung-fu Tao classes on Wednesday from 7:15 to 8pm. Checkout the website to sign up. Sincerely,

Glenn Brown
